This is a list of applications I found useful at some point, most of which I keep ready to use, installed, or running. These have all worked for me, but I run Windows 7. This list is meant to be a starting point for you to investigate if they are right for you -- by no means would I expect you to use all of the things I have listed!

If the links are dead, please shoot me an email. You should still be able to find them by googling the name, though. In no particular order,

  • GoldWave - Digital audio editor
  • AquaSnap - Window manager; better snapping and customization that Aero
  • LastPass - Online password manager
  • Microsoft AutoCollage - Collage maker
  • ExactFile - File integrity verifier
  • Bulk Rename Utility - Rename files on Windows without going to the command line. Very powerful tool with many options and different functions.
  • VisiPics - Image de-duplifier
  • ImageVerifier ($) - Verifies integrity of any image format (jpg, RAW, DNG). Need to pay for full version, but so worth it in my opinion.
  • TeamVIewer - Remote control and support for your own/family/peer computers that comes with various other features
  • CCleaner - PC optimization and cleaner
